The Medical Council of India approved Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun as an MCI Regional Centre in Medical education Technologies (MET), vide letter no. MCI- Academics/2014/62713, dated 06/03/2014. On 2nd August 2014, the MCI Regional Centre in MET, HIMS, Dehradun was launched by Dr. Ved Prakash Mishra, Chairman, Academic Committee, MCI. Thirteen Medical Colleges have been allocated to the care of this Centre for training in MET. Under the Regional Centre following Basic Course Workshop have been held till date:

8^thto 12^th April, 2016: A workshop on Pedagogic and Personal Effectiveness was conducted at Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun. Prof. K. Ramnarayan, Vice President, Faculty Development, Manipal University and Prof. Sudhakar Nayak, Director, Manipal Centre for Professional and Personal Development, Manipal University, were the resource faculties for the workshop.

27th to 28th July, 2017:A workshop on “Developing Competency Based Curriculum” was conducted at Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, SRHU, Dehradun. Dr. Tejinder Singh & Dr. Jugesh Chhatwal from CMC, Ludhiana, were the resource faculties for the workshop.
