ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The key to stay relevant, especially in today’s age that is gradually shifting from technologically - aided to technologically – dependent, is to stay up-to-date with the latest developments of the day without losing the human connect that has been the foundation of both education as well as our profession. Though the rollout of CBME curriculum is only a fraction of the colossal change witnessed in the field of medical education and health care over centuries, but the baseline remains the same. Am I connected to my task, my belief and to people who trust me ? The recent COVID pandemic brought a series of changes in our lives, including those in medical education. It fast forwarded our access and dependence on technology in an unprecedented way. The teaching-learning process shifted to the virtual space, making us more technology - dependent. This shift has led us to think about refining the art of human interaction so as to nurture the human connect, which is undeniably the first step in the learning cycle.
Nestled in the lap of shivalik ranges of the Himalayas, the land of H. H. Swami Rama is a perfect example of a blend of spirituality and modern science. Our founder, H. H. Swami Rama, through his life and philosophy, explored the vast potential of the human body and mind. He is a Guru who connects with us even today, beyond time and space, through his ideology, making subsequent learning a transformative experience. Inspired by his faith in the vast potential of human connect, be it in teaching or healing, we chose our theme for NCHPE 2022.
Theme: Preserving the Human Connect in an Era of Technological Advancements in Medicine.
We invite you to NCHPE at Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Swami Rama Himalayan University in collaboration with Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) and Academy of Health Professions Educators (AHPE).
Besides the academic excursions, you can also plan to come to Doon a few days in advance to explore the cities on banks of Ganges, like Rishikesh, Haridwar or the numerous treks in Himalayas, Mussoorie, Dhanaulti, and even further to chopta.
